Registration options
-
(Entry Level Program ages ~6 to ~11)
This is our entry level program. The FUNdamentalz program is designed to be fun while improving skiing skills and getting miles under a young athlete’s skis. Focus is on the development of carving turns with introduction to basic jumps and the terrain park. Depending on the number of athletes and skill level, the FUNdamentalz groups may be split into sub-groups.
PREREQUISITES
We request that athletes coming into the FUNdamentalz program are 6 years old. It is expected they can make it down green and blue runs without falling or snowplowing, as well as get on and off the chair lift and platter lift by themselves. We also ask that athletes are able to put their skis on and click them out on their own.
-
(Development Level Program ages ~10 to ~18)
This program is for skiers who wish to develop their skills to a higher level. These are athletes who are interested in acquiring more advanced freestyle skiing skills and want to learn a variety of tricks and spins. Athletes are encouraged to attend club-hosted competitions throughout the province but competitions are NOT mandatory. There is a greater level of commitment to training but as always, the emphasis is on fun.
PREREQUISITES
We request that athletes coming into Freestylerz can do most of the skills covered in the FUNdamentalz passport. Athletes should at a minimum have strong parallel skiing on all terrain.
-
Provincial team is aimed at skiers who have successfully advanced through development process and want to compete at an elite level. A greater commitment for personal achievement requires additional training and travel. Athletes on the provincial team are expected to be at all training sessions. Provincial team athletes have very focused training, while still keeping it fun. Higher levels of competition such as Provincials and Nationals are available to athletes by invitation.
PREREQUISITES
Athletes must be at a high level of skiing and able to ski all runs with good technique and style. Must have a desire to compete and reach peak performance.
